Her car suddenly stopped working when a Serbian woman steered her car, which was full of children and dogs, into the hard shoulder. A firefighter knew what was about to happen.
On Wednesday around 2 p.m., a 51-year-old Serbian woman drove her car on the Inntalautobahn (A12) from Telfs in the direction of Innsbruck. After the car suddenly ran out of power, she sent the vehicle into the emergency lane in the municipality of Pettnau.
Firefighter responded quickly
She saw smoke rising from the engine compartment. She, her two children and two dogs immediately exited the car. A firefighter driving in the opposite lane immediately left the Autobahn at Pettnau and immediately drove back towards Innsbruck. Until the arrival of the FFW Telfs, he kept the fire under control with the fire extinguishers carried with him.
Residents and dogs unharmed
The final removal was eventually carried out by the FFW Telfs. Both the occupants and the two dogs were unharmed. The vehicle was a total loss. The Inntalautobahn had to be completely closed in an easterly direction for about 15 minutes before the extinguishing operation. Until the end of the recovery of the vehicle at 3 p.m., the eastbound highway was only drivable in one lane.
In addition to the police, the FFW Telfs with three vehicles and 20 men and the ASFINAG with three vehicles and three men were present.
