The supermarket at Praterstern in Vienna with block processing on holidays. Apparently the holidays and the closed shops came as a surprise to many Viennese!
Unbelievably, passers-by shook their heads at the busy Vienna-Praterstern train station on Monday afternoon. “What is going on here?” an elderly gentleman asked casually. Since the Billa branch is one of the few open supermarkets in town, there was another huge line out the door.
Access stop ordered
The company itself is also bursting at the seams. That’s why there was even an admission stop at 1.30 pm! The market was temporarily closed. The on-site security service had to take care of block handling. In the store itself there were long waiting times, especially in the deli section and at the cash registers.
Such scenes are not so rare, as the “Krone” is confirmed. Especially on Sundays, the centrally located supermarket is regularly stormed.
