After auction – family finds body parts in purchased suitcases

Date:

Body parts were allegedly found in the suitcases sold after an auction in New Zealand. The murder commission is now investigating, a police spokesman in Auckland said on Tuesday. An Auckland suburban family called police last Thursday after they made the gruesome find in the suitcases bought at the auction, police representative Tofilau Faamanuia Vaaelua said.

The family is not a suspect in the case, police said. The family had bought the suitcases at an auction of items that had not been collected from a warehouse or whose safekeeping bill had not been paid. Identification of the deceased is now a priority for police, “so we can determine the full circumstances of the find,” Vaaelua explains.

The finds are said to have already been autopsied, according to the police, coroners are busy determining the number of possible victims. According to reports from the Newshub news portal, the police may be dealing with the remains of several bodies. For the time being, the detectives did not provide any information about the number.
