Hotels charge an average of 121.4 euros per occupied room, which amounts to an annual increase of 17.5%
The number of overnight stays in Spanish hotel establishments exceeded 42.3 million last July, an increase of 60.7% compared to the same month in 2021, when there were 26.3 million, the National Institute of Statistics (INE) reports. this Wednesday.
In terms of origin, the number of overnight stays by travelers living in Spain exceeded 15.6 million, representing 34.9% of the total. Those of non-residents for their part amounted to more than 26.7 million.
In contrast, the average stay has increased by 11.6% compared to July 2021, which amounts to 3.4 overnight stays per traveler.
The recovery of tourism in Spain is confirmed, so during the first seven months of 2022 overnight stays increased by 187.7% compared to the same period of the previous year.
In terms of prices, the annual rate of the Hotel Price Index (HPI) was 16.4% in July, which is 7.9 points more than in the same month of 2021 and 4.2 points less than last month.
By autonomous communities, the highest increases in hotel prices compared to July 2021 were in the Comunidad Foral de Navarra (32.4%) and in the Comunidad de Madrid (30.7%)
According to INE data, the average daily turnover of hotels for each occupied room (ADR) was 121.4 euros in July, an increase of 17.5% compared to the same month in 2021.
The average daily income per available room (RevPAR), which is determined by the registered occupancy in hotel establishments, was 89.9 euros, an increase of 56.6%.
