The government thus completes the calls for this support which is considering 500 million for companies with less than 3 employees for this phase
In order to achieve a greater degree of digitization of small and medium-sized enterprises, the government provides support with European funds. So far, two phases had opened last March for companies with 10 to 49 employees and early September for companies with 3 to 9 employees. Now the latest call is open to SMEs with less than 3 employees, who can request 2,000 euros to improve their digitization.
This call is endowed with a budget of 500 million euros and subsidizes with 2,000 euros per company access to technological services such as creating or renewing the website, setting up a ‘marketplace’, providing artificial intelligence solutions, etc. The so-called “digitization agents” are the companies dedicated to this type of function and who have gone through a series of filters set by the Ministry of Economy to act as the mediator between the digital voucher and the requesting companies.
From Red.es, they explain that more than 9,000 digitization agents are in contact with the Digital Kit beneficiary companies to provide them with business digitization solutions, and 2,000 have already signed contracts with them.
These subsidies can be applied for for a year from 20 October, but the term ends when the budgeted credit has been used up.
The Digital Kit is financed with the ‘Next Generation EU’ funds. Companies with less than 50 employees and the self-employed will be able to apply for these ‘digital vouchers’, which vary between 2,000, 6,000 or 12,000 euros, depending on the characteristics of the company, to contract the digitization of their company.
The first aid call, launched last March for SMEs with 10 to 49 employees (segment I) – for a maximum amount of 12,000 euros – has received about 70,000 applications from companies until mid-September and more of 35,000 bonds have already been allocated .
About 33,400 applications were received for the second call, aimed at companies with three to nine employees. With a grant of up to 6,000 euros, these companies can hire services for web page creation, cybersecurity services, process management or social networking.
