More money in the stock market – NEOS demands significant reduction in non-labour costs

Date:

Not least because of the economic crisis, the NEOS are campaigning against the relatively high non-wage labor costs in Austria. The work must be worthwhile again, party leader Beate Meinl-Reisinger, flanked by entrepreneurs Sepp Schellhorn and Karl Mayr, emphasized at a press conference Monday morning (see video above).

The NEOS model calculates that a 6.55 percentage point reduction in non-wage labor costs would result in a reception volume of 8.9 billion euros. For employees, that means six percent more gross and five percent more net. If you reduce non-wage labor costs by nine to ten percentage points, there are even eight percent more gross and seven percent more net with an exemption of twelve billion euros.

NEOS against one-time payments and bonuses
Meinl-Reisinger’s main concern is not to relieve the population by means of one-off payments and bonuses, but to be able to finance life well with income. “I would like to see wages and salaries rise well, but at the same time I understand the companies well,” she described the NEOS approach. More leeway is needed to bring the current wage negotiations to a successful conclusion.

“We want the employees to earn more, but at the same price as far as I’m concerned,” emphasizes Schellhorn. At the same time, he was outraged by the alleged tax cuts for large companies, which former Secretary-General of Finance Thomas Schmid (ÖVP) had spoken of when questioned by the judiciary: “As an entrepreneur, I find it abhorrent and frightening what tax control classes there are in Austria. to be. It is a humiliation for any entrepreneur,” said the ex-MP and hotelier, who did not rule out a return to politics.

Reduce and streamline red tape
Support for the concerns of NEOS also came from entrepreneur Karl Mayr of Fussl Modestraße. The purchasing power of the workers must be preserved and perhaps even increased, he demanded. Achievements must be worthwhile again, which is possible with a reduction in bureaucracy and a streamlining of the state.
