The rest of the transport organizations reject the protests and the ministry assures it will “do everything” to stop them
The government is determined to end the transport strike declared indefinitely since Monday by the Transport Defense Platform, the same one that blocked the distribution chain in Spain last March. That same morning, he “immediately” called on the representatives of the Platform to negotiate and try to stop the strike, as both sides confirm to this newspaper.
At the moment, representatives of both sides are meeting and the progress of the negotiations is not yet known. Ministry sources indicate that the head of Transport, Raquel Sánchez, is not at the meeting because she is in the Balearic Islands and is signing a protocol. They point out that it is an “informational” meeting in response to the Platform’s request to communicate its demands to the ministry.
This time, the ministry has opened up to talk to the carriers and talk much earlier than when the protests in March even caused shortages of certain products in supermarkets.
