German laboratory Lippert chooses Grupo Caliche to open its headquarters in Spain

Date:

Both companies will also develop pioneering joint projects in the agri-food sector integrating logistics with quality management at the source

The dr. Lippert laboratory has opened its first office in Spain with the aim of replicating in our country the quality inspection and food safety services it has been providing in Germany for 20 years. For the implementation in our country, it has chosen Grupo Caliche as a partner. Indeed, the laboratory and offices are located in the logistics center that the Spanish company has in Picassent (Valencia).

In addition to sharing space, both companies will also promote joint projects aimed at integrating two key aspects of international fruit and vegetable trade: logistics and quality management. The aim is to facilitate the connection between producers and commercial areas through a comprehensive door-to-door service that guarantees that the product reaches its destination on time, in optimal conditions and has passed all quality and safety checks.

“Our goal is to get one step closer to the origins of the supply chain. In this way we provide added value to our customers by identifying potential problems that may arise at the origin and not at the destination, as is still the case in most cases today, with all the operational, economic and agility benefits that this entails. ” Frederick Lippert explained.

“It is clear to us that the future of the international fruit and vegetable trade must be much more integrated in order to shorten times and provide more guarantees. By working together, we offer a service that aims to improve quality and safety of the goods, by shortening the time between collection from the field and the moment they are put up for sale in the store,” explains Demetrio Lajarín, Director of Transport for Grupo Caliche.

The Caliche logistics center in Valencia covers 15,000 square meters and has direct connections by road (motorway A-7), sea (ports of Valencia and Sagunto) and air (Valencia airport). The total capacity of the new space is 30,000 pallets and has eight cold stores with a controlled temperature for food. The company invested 15 million euros in the construction and modification, which was carried out under the BREEAM parameters, the international label for environmental quality
