The collective labor agreement negotiations for railway employees are currently at a standstill. There is a nationwide warning strike on Monday. Westbahn is now taking a step towards its employees and temporarily increasing salaries by 7.5 percent.

The Westbahn also plans a one-off price increase bonus of 500 euros gross in December.

These measures will be settled with the actual increases after the conclusion of the new collective labor agreement. “Collective bargaining is often difficult, but this year they have special concerns – both for the company and for the employees. With the voluntary increase, we want to send a signal to our Westbahn team that it is important for us to act quickly to quickly achieve a noticeable effect,” said board members Thomas Posch and Florian Kazalek in a broadcast.
On Sunday evening it was announced that the employer side has interrupted negotiations on a new collective labor agreement (KV). The union said it had made concessions several times and to adjust the offer to a plus of 400 euros. She had already threatened strikes during the negotiations and a nationwide strike will take place on Monday. Currently (the KV is still valid until November 30, please note) the minimum wage for employees of railway companies is 1878.24 euros gross (40-hour working week) or 1820.18 euros gross (38.5 hours).
