Thanks to financing and Co. the demand for heat pumps increases by 47 percent

Date:

The demand for heat pumps in Austria is expected to increase by 47 percent this year. According to an analysis by Brancheradar.com, 45,000 units will be purchased. The energy crisis and government subsidies for the phasing out of oil and gas, among other things, are responsible for the plus.

Another role is played by the “subjective uncertainty of a fossil fuel shortage,” representatives of market research institute Brancheradar.com said in a broadcast. The energy and climate crisis would boost the market for heat pumps in Germany. Manufacturers’ turnover is expected to increase by almost 50 percent this year to a total of 343 million euros.

“Excellent preconditions”
“Although electricity prices are rising enormously this year, the federal government is absorbing a significant part of the price increase with the energy and climate bonus. In this regard, the preconditions are excellent for heat pumps to become the heating standard within a few years – at least in private homes,” said the market research institute. It was also emphasized that heat pumps are the most environmentally friendly of all forms of heating.

input needed
Electricity generation from renewable energy covered about 68 percent of domestic electricity consumption in October. Compared to last year, more renewable energy was also produced. The most significant increase was in river power (plus 43 percent). As in the previous month, Austria was seasonally dependent on imports from abroad, including gas, in October. There is currently a shortage between the available renewable electricity and the current demand.
