Dramatic investor bid for an Austrian invention that gives hospital staff more time for personal care. This greatly simplifies the search for personnel and also reduces costs.
Martin Zumtobel has already done a lot in his entrepreneurial life, but now it will be very exciting again: the former king of the consumer market (“Familia-Märkte” in Austria) has with “Smart Liberty” a very successful company in Liechtenstein with his participation in Liechtenstein digital care area increased.
The basic idea: In nursing homes with long-term patients, there is an advanced digital control system that can be individually set and monitored. Martin Zumtobel: “Hospitals in Switzerland quickly realized that this system made it easier for them to recruit staff. Because digitization leaves more time for healthcare.”
Zumtobel’s company is working with the Austrian company Schrack Seconet on “Smart Liberty”. The managing director there, Wolfgang Kern, is more than satisfied: “We set this up in a department at the AKH and also in Ireland. There is a lot of potential in that.”
International investors also seem to see it that way. More recently, a bet around “Smart Liberty” has developed.
Internal planning calculations predict a rapid growth from the current ten million euros to many times more in the coming years. Martin Zumtobel: “Yes, that’s right, we are in talks with interested parties, from investments to a sale, everything is possible.”
It wouldn’t be the first deal from the busy Vorarlberger, whose family was once a leading A&O wholesaler. He sold his “Familia-Märkte” very lucratively to the Swiss company Migros, but part of the proceeds seeped away in a daring coffee project (canned milk coffee à la Red Bull) in distant China.
Now, of course, he seems to be on the right side of the coin: the app for the digital healthcare system, previously only installed on Samsung devices, is now being rolled out worldwide.
