The company will carry out a capital increase for the distribution of titles, the majority option of the partners
Nearly 80% of Iberdrola’s capital, ie 79.5%, has opted to receive corporate securities under the “Iberdrola Retribución Flexible” system, which corresponds to the interim dividend charged to the results of the financial year 2022. To carry out this operation, the group will issue 84,270,000 new shares, representing a capital increase of 1.325%, as the company reported to the National Securities Market Commission (CNMV) on Thursday. According to the planned calendar, these new titles will be regularly traded on the market from February 1.
In addition, the holders of 1,305 million shares, representing 20.5% of Iberdrola’s share capital, have elected to receive the interim dividend in cash, set at EUR 0.18 gross per share.
This interim dividend for the year 2022 will be supplemented by the final dividend that the company expects to pay in July, if approved by the company’s general meeting of shareholders.
Through the ‘Iberdrola Retribución Flexible’ system, shareholders could choose between receiving group shares or receiving their compensation in cash, either by selling their allocation rights on the market or by receiving the interim dividend corresponding to the year 2022.
