Passengers denounce the situation and demand compensation
“Due to a crash in our systems, the billing and boarding service has been stopped at several airports. The entire Iberia team is working to resolve it. We apologize to our customers for the inconvenience the situation is causing them.” This Saturday morning, a technical problem at the Spanish airline is causing delays and serious problems on numerous affected flights.
Iberia has not disclosed which airports the systems have fallen on, but passengers have begun to express their outrage through social networks, which have become the point of finding out the extent of the incident.
A passenger on a flight between Madrid and Barcelona reports experiencing “total chaos”, with delays of at least two hours and manual boarding.
“No one tells us anything,” shout other users, asking Iberia to provide a phone number to address the situations being experienced. “A shame! Here at the airport no one explains anything properly, lost flight from Barcelona to Santiago de Chile,” another commented.
Complaints and regrets trickled through social networks without Iberia providing any further information on when the issue will be resolved. “We regret the inconveniences presented. Our colleagues are working to resolve the incident as quickly as possible and restore service. We suggest you approach Iberia staff on site for more updates,” they say from Iberia.
