17 world championships last year, victory in the Dakar Rally in early 2023 – in the sport, KTM races from one victory to the next. The company from Mattighofen (Upper Austria) is also economically unstoppable: Pierer Mobility AG, owner of the KTM, Husqvarna and GasGas brands, achieved record results last year.
On January 9, Pierer Mobility AG announced that 2022 was another excellent year and that the company sold more motorcycles than ever before. The engine manufacturer has now published the official figures.
And this is how they look: The turnover of the group of companies led by Stefan Pierer was increased by 19 percent – to 2.437 billion euros. A record number! Profit before interest and taxes also increased by 22 percent to 235 million euros.
Despite strained supply chains, delays and rising costs, 375,492 motorcycles and 118,465 e-bikes and bicycles were sold last year.
Already more than 6000 employees
The number of employees grew by exactly 839 to a total of 6088 employees. Striking: KTM also remains the clear number one within the company. In 2022, 268,575 of the orange motorcycles were sold.
