Since the beginning of the smartphone era 15 years ago, there have been many technology collaborations between mobile phone manufacturers and optics specialists: Nokia relied early on on partner Zeiss, as did Sony. Nowadays, Chinese mobile phone manufacturers in particular have such technology partnerships: Xiaomi is working with Leica instead of Huawei, Oppo/OnePlus and Vivo with Hasselblad and Zeiss.
