Vienna Airport has experienced a strong economic recovery after the Corona low point last year: net profit rose from 6.6 to 128.1 million euros and turnover increased by no less than 70 percent to 692.7 million euros. A further increase in the number of passengers is also expected.
The board of directors now wants to propose a dividend of about 77 cents per share at the annual general meeting for 2022 – a total of about 65 million euros, the company announced on Wednesday.
An increase in the payout ratio is planned for 2023
Debt-free in 2022, an increase is planned for 2023. This time the dividend is 60 percent of net income after minorities. All employees of Flughafen Wien AG also benefit from the employees’ foundation, which owns 10 percent of the shares. According to the company, the benefit is good for up to 70 percent of a monthly salary.
In 2023, up to 27 million passengers are expected at the Vienna location
The strong passenger growth from 2022 is expected to continue this year: for the whole of 2023, a passenger volume of approximately 26 to 27 million passengers is expected at the Vienna location and 32 to 34 million across the entire group.
