After the first high phase of the pandemic, the “Krone” met René Tiefenbacher, CEO of the lighting manufacturer Eglo, in Pill for an interview. He probably didn’t think then that very good grades were being written despite Corona. A year after the outbreak of war in Ukraine and a major hacker attack in the previous year, the “Krone” asked again for the illuminated table.
“crown”: How did Eglo survive the pandemic?
Rene Tiefenbacher: The pandemic has made us very good. At first we were concerned that this could have a negative impact on the business. But it was just the opposite. Many people worked from home in 2021 and invested in their home. The demand for lamps has even increased. So in the end it was very positive for us. In 2020 and 2021 we achieved our best results and turnover. It was going very well until March last year.
