At least 325 euros – wages in the electrical industry will rise by 9.9 percent

The electrical and electronics industry agreed on a salary increase of 9.9 percent on Wednesday evening. 60,000 employees in the country will benefit from this. Association chairman Wolfgang Hesoun spoke of “long and fair negotiations”.

A compromise was reached for all involved on Wednesday evening. The actual and KV wages will increase gross by 9.9 percent or by at least 325 euros per month. According to the employer, students receive a plus of 10.5 percent. The new minimum wage rises to 2,238.66 euros gross.

Plus for shipping and warehouse employees
In the meantime, the representatives in the forwarding and warehousing sector have been able to agree on a new collective labor agreement. In combination with a reduction in working hours from 40 to 38.5 hours per week, hourly wages would rise by an average of 11.33 percent, the vida union announced on Wednesday. In addition, a tax-free housing allowance of at least 300 euros for part-time workers and 600 euros for full-time workers was approved. The increase is retroactive to April 1. About 25,000 employees are covered by the new collective labor agreement.

In recent weeks, the new collective labor agreements for Expedit, driving schools, horticulture and printing companies have also been concluded. The agreement was between 8.6 and 10 percent increase in wages and salaries. Negotiations at the AUA were bumpy, but they eventually agreed on an 11 percent plus for aircrew.

Further negotiations follow
Tomorrow, Thursday, the second round of negotiations will start for 8,000 employees in the paper industry. The chemical industry will start the second round on April 24, with 45,000 employees. Percentage requirements are not yet on the table.
