Competition with cow’s milk – oat milk producers: “Reach out to farmers”

Date:

Obertrum’s traditional brewery has recently started producing first-class organic oat milk, including brewery barley. Some farmers see this as an attack on their dairy business. The opposite is the case, says 40-year-old Trumer boss Josef Sigl.

The Trumer Brewery is committed to ingenuity. Or to put it more precisely: built on the roofs. A peak power of 650 kilowatts has been generated since spring on the company premises in the center of Obertrum in Salzburg. That covers 80 percent of their own needs. With the wood chip plant, which is also located on the company premises, even households in the municipality of Flachgau are supplied with bioheat. Crazy prices on the energy markets? That is noted at the traditional brewery. But nothing more.
