Renewals in tenancy law will come into effect on 1 July, including the long-awaited change in the remuneration of brokerage fees. This will be paid in the future by the party who commissioned the broker for the rental. That was not the case until now: as a rule, the future tenant had paid for it. But the whole thing could now become an own goal and the costs could be reflected in rents, experts warn of the next price hikes for Austrians.
