A woman from the Wiener Neustadt district received 8,255 instead of more than 20,000 euros in severance pay – which caused a stir among more and more affected people. One of them should now receive only 6,600 euros after 20 years of service. No less than 95 percent (!) of the deposited amount was suddenly gone.
The bleak prospects for all those who will soon receive only a meager severance payment after a busy career are making the waves run high. After Susanne Pross’s case got underway, there were numerous responses from ‘Krone’ readers.
As reported, after almost 20 years of service, Pross is entitled to only 8,255 euros in severance pay. In the old system, which she just missed when she started working, she would have received about 12,000 euros more. In addition, investment losses only leave 39 euros (!) of the 680 euros that your employer paid to the pension fund last year.
