Escrivá resumes negotiations with social agents after a month and a half of blockade
After a month and a half of blockage in the negotiations, the government has again sat down with the social partners to tackle the new premium system for the self-employed on the basis of their real income. The dialogue has resumed after a few weeks in which the discomfort was more than obvious, both on the part of the Ministry of Social Security towards the collective associations and vice versa, as well as between the associations themselves, which take very different positions and cannot because of the time to come to terms with each other. The other novelty is that the department headed by José Luis Escrivá has already officially confirmed to the trade unions and the main self-employed workers’ associations its willingness to agree on a proposal for a listing with a horizon of three years, and not nine, as the first intention was of the government, and after this period to see how it has evolved and how progress can be made, as this paper had already advanced and as confirmed by sources present at the meeting this Friday.
But no further progress has been made, despite the ministry sending a statement saying that “it has been verified in the meeting that progress has been made since the start of negotiations and that meeting points have been demonstrated.” Because in reality everything has been reduced to good words and the intention of everyone to work for an agreement. But then in abstracto. There is no new proposal or paper on the table.
