Tomorrow, Saturday, Austrian Airlines (AUA) passengers will have to prepare for a changed flight schedule and delays. Short- and medium-haul flights are particularly affected; rebookings to Lufthansa Group flights should take place.
The works council board holds a “company meeting in accordance with the labor law, which must take place once every six months,” as Vida trade unionist Daniel Liebhart told the Kurier. The factory meeting is scheduled for 9 a.m., the union said.
Because the working meeting was scheduled for Saturday, the busiest day of the week, the AUA had to cancel 92 flights, mainly short- and medium-haul destinations.
In total, more than 8,000 passengers were affected. Passengers who provided a mobile phone number or email address when booking will be informed about flight changes and rebookings, the airline said in a statement.
Passengers are requested to inform themselves in a timely manner about the status of their flight. The airline also announced that AUA rebooked passengers on Lufthansa Group flights.
