With fashion czar Jean Paul Gaultier, the Tyrolean crystal company Swarovski staged the most expensive show to date in the legendary Friedrichstadt palace in the German capital. The “Krone” was at the premiere with lots of music, acrobatics and lots of sparkling stones on costumes and stage.
What can you say? 100 million Swarovski crystals – that’s quite a number. According to the organizers, so many glittering stones were used for the latest production at Berlin’s legendary Friedrichstadt-Palast. 100 million stones for costumes, carpeting, furniture – “and the largest crystal ever cut by Swarovski at 180 kilograms,” palace director Berndt Schmidt said on Wednesday evening, eliciting the first appreciative “Oh” of the evening from the premiere audience in Berlin – Mitte.
