But what do Catalonia and its seaside resorts have in common with Upper Austria? “Both regions are the economic engine of their respective countries,” says Markus Achleitner, Regional Councilor for Economics, who, together with Thomas Bründl, Vice-President of the Association of Industrialists, led a delegation in Upper Austria that looked behind the scenes of the economic engine on the Iberian Peninsula. Catalonia is well supplied with gas, has also taken timely precautions when it comes to liquid gas and has built its own terminals. “Now they want to become one of the largest hydrogen suppliers,” says Achleitner.
