582 million euros – Mark Mateschitz received a dividend

Date:

Red Bull heir Mark Mateschitz, often described as Europe’s richest millennial, has had his share of the company’s 2022 dividend handed over to him. 582 million euros flowed into the 31-year-old’s account.

The current dividend represents the lowest payout in three years. Profitability increased last year due to higher production and marketing costs. The shower manufacturer’s sponsorship budget exceeded one billion euros for the first time in 2022.

After the death of his father Dietrich, who was considered Austria’s richest person, Mark Mateschitz owned 49 percent of Red Bull through a holding company, which generated 383 million euros. According to Bloomberg, another 199 million euros were added to the pro rata payment.

Paying extra has a long tradition
An additional payment to Austria’s co-owner is considered a long tradition. The Yoovidhya family in Thailand has the 51 percent majority.

Mateschitz is by far the richest Austrian
Mark Mateschitz was ranked 90th on the Bloomberg Billionaires Index on November 2, 2023. He is by far the richest Austrian listed there. According to the index, the estimated assets amount to 18.1 billion dollars (almost 17.2 billion euros).

There is only one other Austrian in the index’s top 500: Novomatic owner Johann Graf. With currently $5.59 billion, he is “only” in 433rd place.
