Due to lack of staff, the cafe and shop in Upper Austria are closed and will remain closed! After traditional pastry chef Leo Jindrak has tried to restart the closed location on Hospital Street in Linz three times since September 2022, patience remains necessary.
There is still a red note on one door stating that the branch will be closed from September 29 due to a lack of employees. Anyone who walks around the corner towards Nica Pharmacy will read on another piece of paper that the door is open to applicants and that they can help open the café again.
Coffee-to-Go-Angebot
In addition, a poster in the glass facade advertises a coffee-to-go offer – as if the restaurant could open again at any time…
“It’s a nice, good branch”
The Jindrak location on the corner of Eisenhandstrasse and Hospitalstrasse has been abandoned for fourteen months. A circumstance that hurts Leo Jindrak, but which the master pastry chef cannot change for the time being. “We did not make the decision to close in the fall of 2022 easy. It is a beautiful, good branch,” Jindrak reflects. And further: “It hurts even more that we are closed.”
“Great team”
“We tried to build a team three times in the summer, but then we needed employees at other locations,” says the entrepreneur, whose service staff is still too thin. “We are well positioned in production, we also have many permanent employees and a good team, but we still lack people,” says Jindrak.
The increased demand for part-time jobs makes it difficult for traditional companies to fill vacancies in services. There is currently no easing of the situation in sight. “It has become very, very gloomy,” says the boss of a total of 140 employees. Offers continue to come in to take over cafes. But you can’t access it. Reason: the lack of staff.
