Magenta Austria opened a new data center in Graz on Monday, in which a double-digit million euros was invested: 380 server cabinets with a capacity of up to 3.6 megawatts are used on an area of 1120 square meters.
The infrastructure opens up new opportunities, such as additional capacity for Gigabit Internet, 5G mobile communications and HD television, which should benefit Magenta customers in Styria and the Southern Federal Territories.
“Digital Artery”
Data center space will also be available for business customers, according to a broadcast on Monday. During the construction of the “digital main artery”, excavation work was carried out to lay data lines.
This means that up to 2,000 new households and businesses in Graz can now be connected to Magenta Telekom’s fiber optic network. Approximately 136,000 households and businesses in Graz and the surrounding area are currently supplied via fiber.
