The administrations have until 1 June to publish and approve the places to be offered in the stabilization processes, as laid down in the so-called Iceta law. In this regard, the general secretary of ELA has criticized the Basque and Navarrese governments for a lack of will to consolidate jobs.

In an interview for the “Boulevard” program on Radio Euskadi, Mitxel Lakuntza emphasized that the Basque government and the government of Navarra only intend to stabilize one in four temporary workers and that the temporary rate will not fall below 30 %. Lakuntza points out that more than 33,000 people in the Basque Autonomous Community and 13,000 people in Navarra will remain outside the consolidation processes.

However, he has acknowledged that the situation is very different in town halls and county councils, where “they are making an effort to make as many of these places as possible”. He added that this is not the case for the Basque government and the government of Navarre. According to Mitxel Lakuntza, once the consolidation process is completed, temporary employment in municipalities such as Bilbao, San Sebastián or Vitoria-Gasteiz will fall to 6%. Therefore, he believes that there is a very difficult explanation for the fact that management is so different in one area or another.

In a different order, he has expressed his concern about the situation of Siemens Gamesa.
