Full parking lots, long queues at the checkout and stressed employees: shopping in December is not always a pleasure. The Christmas business is becoming less and less important. In 2023, 1.25 billion euros were spent on donations in December. “This corresponds to a significant drop in turnover of almost 200 million euros compared to the previous year,” says Rainer Will, director of the trade association.
