The Interfood Grocery Wholesale company is recalling a tuna product available at Billa due to its elevated mercury content.
“Billa Genusswelt Tonno a Pinne Gialle Affumicato 100g” is affected. Consuming the product with an expiration date of February 5, 2024 is not recommended.
Is increasingly found in predatory fish
Mercury enters the food chain and thus into food through deposits in the soil and water. In predatory fish such as tuna, which are at the bottom of the food chain, this can accumulate to a greater extent and is therefore part of regular routine surveys.
Data subjects who have already purchased the goods can now return them without a receipt, Rewe International AG said.
