There are again disruptions at Austrian Airlines (AUA). Due to a company meeting of flying staff scheduled for next Friday, the AUA is canceling 150 flights that day.
The affected connections have now been removed from the system and passengers have been informed. Further short-term adjustments to the flight schedule are also possible, the AUA said on Tuesday.
The AUA is not affected by the strikes announced on Thursday by the ground staff of parent company Lufthansa in Germany. According to the information, the flights will take place as planned.
Dispute over salary increases
The reason for the cuts on Friday is the stalled collective labor agreement negotiations. It concerns the collective labor agreement (KV) for pilots and flight attendants. After a good economic year for the aviation sector and a significant increase in ticket prices, the union demands that employees also benefit from this in the form of appropriate salary increases.
Spontaneous warning strike last week
Last Friday, almost 140 flights were canceled due to company meetings and a spontaneous warning strike. The Vida union said on Tuesday that further collective bargaining is planned before the upcoming meetings.
