Facebook and Instagram suffered widespread technical disruptions on Tuesday. Numerous users worldwide reported problems logging in. According to Meta spokesperson Andy Stone, the problem was resolved in the evening.
“A technical issue today caused users to have difficulty accessing some of our services. “We have resolved the issue as quickly as possible for everyone involved and apologize for any inconvenience caused,” Meta spokesperson Andy Stone wrote on Platform X on Tuesday evening. He had previously posted that the company was aware of the technical issue and on The Fix website, it is already being worked on.

WhatsApp still worked
The disruption started at 4:30 PM CET and lasted until approximately 6:00 PM. Users in several countries had trouble logging into Facebook, Instagram, or even Threads. Threads was founded last year as a competing service to X and is a response to developments following Elon Musk’s takeover. However, there would have been no problems with WhatsApp, which is also owned by the American internet company Meta.
User: “Isn’t hacked”
A He is relieved that he has not been hacked. Other users said matter-of-factly that the outage made some people realize they had so much time and nothing to do.

The outage was less severe than, say, Facebook in 2021, when a configuration error in a protocol caused the company to accidentally remove its own address from its systems. As a result, the servers could no longer communicate with each other. Resolving the error took several hours.
