“We are seeing a significant increase in complaints about dropshipping companies,” emphasizes Joachim Kogelmann, lawyer at the Association for Consumer Information. With dropshipping, retailers sell goods without ever having them in stock (see fact box). The packages are now even clogging up air freight. Temu and Shein transport 4,000 to 5,000 tons by air every day. In Germany alone, 400,000 parcels arrive every day, in the US this number is 600,000, putting global logistics to the test.
