A restructuring procedure was opened for the well-known restaurant in Neusiedl am See on Thursday.
One of the most famous restaurants on Lake Neusiedler, Mole West, has gone bankrupt. As KSV1870 and AKV announced, a restructuring procedure was initiated through Gruze Mayer & Co Immobilien GmbH, which operates the restaurant. The debts amount to 2.8 million euros, involving 70 creditors. There are no employees directly employed by the company.
Corona and lack of water as reasons
In addition to the consequences of the corona pandemic – the restaurant could not claim state aid – the stated reasons for the bankruptcy were an “economically devastating summer season of 2022 (lack of water in Lake Neusiedler), an increasing use of goods and a high workforce. and energy costs”.
The curator decides
Creditors are offered a quota of 20 percent. The restructuring plan must be financed from the continuation of the company. “The trustee will now have to determine whether continuation is in the interest of the creditors,” says KSV1870.
