Tough wage negotiations, warning strikes, company meetings – and countless flights that have to be canceled! Not only customers of Austrian Airlines have been affected by the tug-of-war over more salaries in recent days, other airlines are also having a hard time. In addition, aviation is on the rise. Supplier FACC from the Innviertel (Upper Austria) also benefits from this.
Last year, 3,670 aircraft were ordered from Airbus and Boeing alone, and at the same time the number of deliveries of completed aircraft is also increasing – two circumstances from which FACC also benefits.
The aircraft supplier from the Innviertel (Upper Austria) increased its turnover to 736 million euros in 2023 and also increased its operating profit before interest and taxes to 17.5 million euros.
And Upper Austrians also like to look to the future. The long-term order book contains orders worth approximately $5.8 billion. “We are very well booked for the next seven to ten years,” says CEO Robert Machtlinger.
The expectation is that the workforce will grow to approximately 4,000 employees
After an extreme staff reduction a few years ago, the need for staff at FACC is now enormous. Last year, 536 new employees came on board. This year the number of employees is expected to increase to approximately 4,000, which amounts to an increase of several hundred employees.
