Whether it’s a weekend city trip, a spa day or even a whole week at the beach: more and more people are going on holiday alone. This can be conscious, but also for purely practical reasons: the partner doesn’t get a holiday at the same time and simply doesn’t feel like doing the yoga week in the Canary Islands. Some people prefer solo travel because they don’t have to compromise on how they spend their time and which restaurants they go to. And you are automatically more open to contact with locals or other travellers if you want spontaneous company.
