The Capricorn seeks 8,200 points without the Wall Street reference

Acciona Energía and Sacyr make their debut in the roster in a session marked by the holidays in the world’s most important financial market

European stocks are entering another week in which they will try to minimize past losses, fearing that the end of central banks’ expansionary policies will eventually lead to a recession. After collecting 3% in the last five sessions, putting the 8,000 points in serious jeopardy, the Ibex-35 rose 0.4% to 8,181 points.

Among the protagonists of the day, Acciona Energía and Sacyr stand out, listed this Monday on the main index of the Spanish stock exchange, replacing Almirall and Cie Automotive.

The rest of European stock markets are also pointing to a rally day, benefiting from the absence of references in the US, where Wall Street will remain closed for a holiday.

Central banks continue to lead the way for investor sentiment and while stock market response has been more subdued, the European monetary institution has managed to curb some of the abrupt rise in periphery bond yields and credit risk premiums.

In particular, the interest demanded by investors to buy Spanish debt on the secondary market is rising to 2.74% today. Levels still high compared to the 0.5% that started the year but below the 3% exceeded last week.

The yield on the 10-year German bond, the main reference in Europe, in turn moves by 1.65%, keeping the Spanish risk premium (difference between the interest on the national bond and the German bond at the same maturity) stable at 107 basis points . It crossed 137 basis points last week.

In the commodities market, after several days of notable gains, the oil price remains at $113 for a barrel of Brent, while West Texas, the US benchmark, is trading around $108.
