No more paperwork, Billa & Co will say that in the future. Because the jö Bonus Club now introduces digital invoices as an alternative to the classic receipt.
Seven million transactions – that’s how much Austrian trade counts every day. “According to estimates from the Economic Association, 70 percent of receipts are spent on purchases under 30 euros. Most of it ends up in the next trash bin,” calculates Nikolai Scheurecker, director of the jö Bonus Club.
This means that groceries amount to around 1,500 kilometers per day – a distance from Vienna to Oslo, and that alone via receipts of less than 30 euros.
Minimize paper waste
That is why we now want to put an end to paperwork at the checkout – and offer a modern and service-oriented alternative. “All purchase invoices from the trading companies Billa, Billa Plus, Bipa, Penny and all participating Adeg traders are available on request in the jöäpp,” says Rewe board member Marcel Haraszti, satisfied with the innovations at the cash register.
Not only does it eliminate paper waste, but it also greatly increases customer service, “since the checkout process is automatic.” In addition, as a customer you can always view your invoices in the jö app.
Digital invoice with many advantages
The use of the digital purchase invoice is independent of the type of jö membership, but is not mandatory. If you prefer to view your invoices digitally in the future, you only have to agree to the terms of use in the app. According to the jö Bonus Club, the feature can be activated or deactivated at any time.
And the digital invoice has even more advantages, it is argued. Jö members have access to an overview of their last purchase including the purchase amount, savings, an overview of the money they raised and a list of the items purchased.
To enable faster searching, this list can also be filtered based on various criteria and, for example, certain invoices can be marked as favorites. Exchanges can also be handled easily and digitally in this way.
