Krone+ investigated the reasons for the price explosion and asked major domestic juice producers about future plans.
With a smiling face, dad pours the orange juice into the children’s glasses. They drink the “yellow gold” to the last drop with relish and happiness. For a long time, advertising suggested to consumers that there was a drink for everyone. Those times are over, Dad has now lost his smile. A liter of orange juice is no longer available in supermarkets for less than three euros. Up to four euros is currently the reality. “Prices have quadrupled in the past two years!” sighs Erich Teufel of fruit juice manufacturer Rauch.
