The CEO of OMV sees his company well prepared for the end of the Russian Gazprom contract. Alfred Stern is certain that Europe will need natural gas from other sources for many years to come.
“Kron”: You have canceled the gas supply contract with Gazprom. What’s next?
Alfred Stern: The most important thing is that we can serve all our customers reliably. To achieve this, we have done the necessary work in recent years: we have diversified gas sources and made pipeline capacities available. We must continue to promote gas production in Europe, for example in Wittau in the Weinviertel. For the EU, our Neptune Deep project in the Black Sea is even more important.
