‘I think they were mistletoe sellers spying on me. Ten days before the crime, there were people in our settlement. When I opened the front door, they probably saw that everything inside had been updated and that they could get something from me. “I also had a cast in my foot, so they must have thought: it can’t walk away,” speculates the 44-year-old from Bad Ischl, who was attacked, punched and beaten in his own home by two masked criminals on November 25 at 5:30 am hours had been tortured.
