Controls ownership – Is Ikea taking over the Kika location in Dornbirn?

Date:

The Swedish furniture giant is investigating the vacant building in Dornbirn. But nothing is set in stone yet.

Ikea, the Swedish furniture store, already wanted to set up a spacious branch in Vorarlberg, but in 2018 the company decided not to set up a branch in Lustenau. There is now talk again about a possible location in Vorarlberg. The company is showing interest in the now vacant Kika location in Dornbirn. The company said Wednesday that options are being explored. However, such options would be explored on an ongoing basis – across the country.

It is therefore only logical that this building is at least of routine importance for the furniture store. The owners of the building are also investigating the possibilities. They are interested in a long-term solution. In any case, the location could hardly be more ideal for Ikea. The infrastructural conditions on site with parking spaces, proximity to the fairgrounds and access to the highway are virtually perfect. And the Swedish company cannot complain about a lack of customer interest. After all, many people from Vorarlberg make long trips to Germany (Ulm) or Switzerland (St. Gallen) to shop at Ikea.
