Deutsche Commerzbank has a general workforce of 42,000 employees. Now thousands of places must be terminated.
Two people who are familiar with the case said Reuters that the measure would make several thousand employees, while a third person estimated the number to 3000 to 4,000 – with a general workforce of around 42,000 employees.
The Frankfurt Money House wants to lower its costs with the clear reduction and support its independence compared to the acquisition levies of the Italian Unicredit.
The bank’s supervisory council will discuss the measures on Wednesday in a full day meeting with the management before the strategy is officially presented on Thursday, the insiders said. Commerzbank did not want to comment on this.
