The new engine-related insurance tax will be on average approximately 400 euros per year for owners of E-vehicles from 1 April. The calculation is very complicated – the “Kroon” has looked at how high the costs for the customer will end.
The government wants to occupy more than 60 million euros by also including electric cars in the engine -related insurance tax. On average it is around 400 euros per vehicle per year. Hybrid cars, in which insurance tax has already occurred for the combustion section, are also a bit more expensive. Moreover, electric motorcycles (but no e-mopeds) will be taxed in the future.
However, the amount of the tax, which will be paid in the future together with the liability premium, differs considerably according to the model. In most fully electric cars, the amount will be less than 500 euros – but the range is around 70 to 2000 euros. You can find out where you are here.
