The rates imposed on Chinese import by US President Donald Trump, according to insiders, swirls the production plans of the Tesla Electric Car.
The import of components for the Robotaxi Cybercab and the Semi Saddle Tractor are suspended, said an informed person from the Reuters news agency. This could delay the mass production of the excited new models.
According to the insider, Tesla was actually ready to catch the extra costs, which was the result of the special rates that were initially imposed by Trump at 34 percent on Chinese goods. But then the special rates were 84 percent and ultimately 125 percent. As a result, the total rates – including the previously existing sentences on Chinese goods – are now 145 percent. That is why the delivery plans have now been put on hold.
Mass production should start in 2026
According to the insider, Tesla wanted to start testing the two models in October. Mass production should therefore start in 2026. Tesla did not respond to a statement to the request. According to a report from the “Washington Post”, CEO Elon Musk personally appealed to Trump to reverse the general new rates.
The sales figures worldwide recently collapsed in Tesla. In the United States and other countries there have also been demonstrations and attacks on the car dealers of the E-Car Pioneer. Musk is criticized in the United States, mainly because of his role as a consultant for President Trump in controversial savings among federal authorities. Due to the proximity of Musks to Trump, Tesla is also the retaliation goal against the United States because of the criminal rates introduced by the president against various states, including Canada.
