Good hand cream does not always have to be expensive. This shows a test of consumers and Stiftung Warentest, in which the cheap cream is actually the best. However, it is less satisfying that problematic ingredients were also found in some creams.
13 Hand cream available on the market, which are offered in drugstores, pharmacies and supermarkets, as the Upper Austria room or Labor has informed. The good news: everyone acts against dry hands and takes care of the skin sufficiently in moisture, move in quickly and leaves a pleasant skin feeling behind.
The cheapest product was test winner
The test winner of all places was the own brand of a drugstore chain, which was also the cheapest cream at 95 cents per 100 milliliters – together with a second, in midfield. The bottom line is that the classic creams performed better than the concentrates or fixed hand care.
Problematic ingredients in three creams
However, there were cuts with three creams, two of which are arranged in the price of the price and one in the upper segment, due to problematic ingredients: all three contain Dimethicon (Polydimethylsiloxan). This substance is considered biodegradable, but inevitably comes into the area when washing hands.
Endangered drinking water quality
In the highly priced product, it is difficult to break down mineral oil paraffinum Liquidum and the complex image disk -dinatrium ethylendiamintetra acetic acid, which is difficult to filter out in sewage treatment plants and thus influence the quality of the drinking water, according to the examinators.
The prices were between 95 cents and 17 euros per 100 milliliters. The solid product came to 39 euros per 100 grams.
