Photovoltaic systems are now standard for building roofs. The fact that the agricultural fields can also produce electricity and are therefore used in two tracks still falls into the “extraordinary” category. Energie AG stimulates the implementation of such projects under high pressure.
“This project is another milestone for the transformation of the energy supply with regard to the business location of Upper Austria,” Energie-AG CEO Leonhard emphasized a few weeks ago. The energy supplier, together with the EWS Consulting planning office in Pischelsdorf, placed the largest Agri PV system for green and arable land in Austria.
Two percent space is installed, the rest remains arable land on which oats are growing this year. When designing the system, measurement was brought to the farmers’ devices, so that it can easily manage the remaining areas. The solar modules installed in Pischelsdorf will have 30 years for a lifetime. After that they can be renewed or without residue, it is said.
Energie AG stimulates the implementation of further projects with a similar character. In Mauthausen, 3448 solar modules are currently being installed on a former soil excavation. The facility must be completed at the end of July. Grass that is food for horses and cattle will continue to grow to 80 percent of the area.
