After more than a year of uncertainty on 30 May, the winding is good at Voggenberg in Bergheim in Salzburg. Behind it is a hotelier from Obertauern with his team. The Rigele family thought it was a shame not to stop at the popular destination and soon became a tenant.
The winding intestine has had difficult times: because of a legal dispute between the owner – Plainwirt Johannes Moßhammer – and the neighbors were only possible to a limited extent until the tenant finally said goodbye and had to close the popular destination at the beginning of 2024.

“We thought it was a shame, we liked to stop here,” recalls Christina Rigele, who lived with her husband and the two children in Voggenberg for five years. Then she came across the advertisement that a new tenant would be sought for the inn – and one led to the other.
She and her husband Fritz-He is a partner in the superior hotels “Das Kohlmayr” and “Rigele Royal” in Obertauern-Want to breathe new life into the wind. It will be locked up again on 30 May. The garden is limited with 40 places, because the legal dispute with the neighbors continues. Sound protection is planned.
The charm of the Landgasth of 1392 must be stored. “Back to the origin is our motto,” says Fritz Rigele. This is also reflected in the kitchen: the leadership duo Patrick Paß and Marlene Ebenführer cooked together in the “Rigele Royal” at a roof level, in the winding all year round with regional ingredients Alpine Küche for everyone “in the middle price segment”. A highlight: the new outdoor kitchen with grill and smoked oven.
