The transport company CWA Transporte GmbH of the former President Christoph Walser (ÖVP) of the Tyrolean Chamber of Commerce is Insolvent. Insolvency procedures were opened through the company of the Innsbruck Regional Court, the Loan protection officers AKV, Creditreform and KSV announced on Wednesday. The total obligations would amount to 700,000 to 800,000 euros. About eight employees were affected.
The KSV1870 assumed that the company should not be renovated. The insolvency manager was expected to be closed with an imbalance. Walser has previously staged as the only shareholder and director of the company based in Thaur (Innsbruck-Land District)-the community whose mayor he once was. The bankruptcy application was introduced by the company itself. The most important creditor is the tax office – there were liabilities of almost half a million euros.
With regard to open obligations, the existing assets are manageable, it said. In 2024, various executions against CWA Transporte GmbH were already being processed. The annual financial statements of 2023 have already demonstrated a negative equity of around 100 percent. In comparison with the 2021 and 2022, the negative equity according to the loan protectors has again increased considerably. To date, an annual financial statement before 2024 had not been submitted in the commercial register. The KSV1870 expected that the insolvency manager “will realize all assets and all claims of the insolvency debtor in favor of the bankruptcy mass”.
Initially convicted
The reasons for the bankruptcy stated that the availability of Walser had suffered for his own company Walser because of his public offices. The “negative media report” in the course of criminal accusations against him would also have led to falls in order. At the end of January, Walser was not legally sentenced to a limited prison sentence of six months and an unconditional fine of 3,600 euros at the end of January for tax evasion for the amount of EUR 1.1 million, defamation, falsification of evidence and false evidence in connection with his company. He also accepted half of the 300,000 euros for financial offenses.
Already after the investigation, it was announced in November 2023, Walser formator ÖVP Future Hope in the country with great ambitions and from 2018 to 2023 Chamber President-in-Chamber has his offices in the Chamber of Commerce and as mayor of Thaur. At the time, the politician said that he has not always “awarded his role and responsibility as an entrepreneur”.
